Hello world!
It's been a long time since I've posted on here and for that I'm sorry! If anyone wants to know what I've been up to and a health update, I have posed about it on my new blog called Lucy's Little Life :)
I've been through a lot the past couple of years and I just needed a fresh start. Hopefully I'll see some of you over there!
All the best,

Something New
Hello world!
If you came here in search of a tribute to the Girls Aloud hit, this is not the place I'm afraid. However, if you're into the ramblings of a girl who impulsively changed her hair to try 'something new' before she turns twenty (argh!) stick around.
So yes, I have been to the hairdressers and have changed my look... a bit. I've always played it safe with my hair, as I've been wary of damaging my precious locks which have painfully taken me years to grow, but with a little nudge from my sister and a bit of adrenaline, I took the plunge.
I discussed the colour I wanted with my hair stylist and we decided upon going for something similar to Rachel Bilson's lovely caramel blonde ends, which complement her roots (which are a similar colour to mine) beautifully. Although I love bright blonde ombre styles, such as Zoella's, as a first step I think a darker colour was more fitting, especially for autumn.
Here is a before and after picture, although admittedly it does not showcase my hair properly. And yes, I am fully aware that my skin is slightly of the orange variety in the first picture... the picture was taken in the summer and I think the sun may have gone to my head. Nevertheless - here is my new look, and I'm pretty chuffed with it.
I would like to say that this change has made me feel empowered and sassy because I had the guts to do it, but so far I think I just look like a baffoon oogling at myself in reflective surfaces in astonishment that I actually had the balls to go kind of blonde!
Anyways, I can't be the only impulsive so-and-so changing their look... what's new with everyone?! Also, fellow ombre-ers, what hair products do you reccomend for keeping your ends silky smooth?

I'm sorry!
No, your eyes do not deceive you, this is an actual blog post that I actually wrote!
Life's been very hectic for me as I have just finished my first year of university so it's been a few weeks of rushing around, trying to do work I should have done a while ago in a small amount of time - whilst working 37.5 hours a week! Welcome to life of a student nurse. I've also been feeling really under the weather recently, I shan't go into too much detail but I'm going to the doctors soon and hopefully all will be ok soon.
Anyways, that explains why I've been neglecting this blog and I'm sorry, but honey I swear this is the last time. Once I'm back to normal, there'll be nothing to stop me. Watch this space! :)

Drugstore Haul - I need some willpower.
Hello World!
Ok, a few days ago it was Mother's Day in the UK and as per usual I was unorganised and had not bought my Mum's present, so I asked her what she wanted and was on my way. She wanted something from Next, which I knew was dangerous as this shop is right next to Boots. Two words = uh oh.
I couldn't help myself, I'd heard some really nice reviews of Rimmel's Wake Me Up Foundation (Tanya Burr, Onna's Little Blog and others) and concealer and I really wanted to try it... Unfortunately, I didn't stop there and I ended up spending a whopping £90! (which really is a lot for me, considering it was only on drugstore products)
What did I buy, I hear you ask?
Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation £8.99
Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer £5.49
Rimmel Apocolips (501 Stellar) £5.99
Rimmel Apocolips (101 Celestial) £5.99
Rimmel Stay Matt Powder £3.99
Rimmel Soft Khol Kajal Eye Pencil £2.99
Tangle Teaser £10.99
Tweezerman Tweezers £14.50
Barry M Gelly Nail Varnish (Blueberry) £3.99
Barry M Gelly Nail Varnish (Papaya) £3.99
Max Factor Max Effect Mini Nail Vanish £3.99
Maybelline The Falsies Mascara £7.99
(and some other, less exciting, bits and bobs)
Although I spent quite a bit, I think I've found some products that will be part of my beauty routine for quite some time! As I bought quite a bit and want to use these products a bit before I commit myself to giving my opinion on them, I shan't review any of these products until I've used them a bit more, I just thought I'd share with the world what I've bought :) But so far I am loving the Tangle Teaser and Apocalips (so pigmented it's unreal!)
But yes, I must exercise a bit more restraint from now on... student loans only go so far and I fear my parents may disown me if they see me come home with another Boots bag.
Does anyone else struggle to walk past their favourite drugstores?

25 Facts About Me!
Hello World!
So, I can't think of anything more appropriate than doing a '25 Facts About Me' post, so you can all get to know me a little bit better. So... 25 facts about me;
1. I am a massive Harry Potter fan. I have been to 2 of the premieres (and by this I do not mean on the red carpet, I mean standing out in the rain for hours on end waiting to catch a glimpse of the stars!). For Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 I slept overnight, in the pouring rain on the floor in Trafalgar Square - if that's not dedication, I don't know what is.
2. I'm a vegetarian and have been for 7 years.
3. I am a first year student nurse and I bloody well love it.
4. I am a whopping 5"2'. My friends genuinely thought they'd lost me on the tube because I'm the same height as most people's shoulders.
5. My sister and I have a wee bit of a Disney addiction. The Disney Store is one of my favourite shops, although it is a bit embarrassing when the cashier asks who I'm buying Tangled sippy cups for, when we both know that they're for me.
6. I have 2 tattoos. A deathly hallows symbol on my foot (I told you I was a fan!) and 3 bird silhouettes on my collarbone, one for my mum, dad and sister.
7. I was born exactly one month before I was due... yet I was the normal weight for a newborn, interpret that as you will.
8. Alexander Skarsgard is my idea of the perfect man.
9. I have a serious lipstick addiction... especially purple/red lipsticks.
10. My friends used to mock me for my love of Cath Kidston.
11. I'm fairly confident I've seen every episode of 8 Out of 10 Cats, Q.I., Mock the Week and Have I Got News for You... what can I say, I love comedy panel shows (I suppose it helps that they're always on Dave).
12. I really like One Direction, please don't judge me. I saw them in February at the O2... it was just wonderful.
13. For a good part of my childhood, my parents made me go to a competitive swimming club, despite being awful at swimming.
14. When I was in New York I met Lee Evans and Billy Connolly. (and Dr Roberts from The OC - if you're a big fan like me, this was a BIG deal).
15. I was the first person in my year at school to get braces ( I was 11).
16. If I had to live off one meal for the rest of my life, it would be Thai Green Curry with tofu and egg fried rice. Yummy.
17. My three favourite songs at the moment are Chocolate - The 1975, Pompeii - Bastille and Another Love - Tom Odell.
18. I have a 50 inch TV in my room. Don't ask me why.
19. My school work experience, college enrichment, volunteering, job and now degree have all been hospital based. What can I say? I love healthcare.
20. I support Norwich City Football Team, like Stephen Fry. OTBC.
21. I HATE going to the hair dresser. With every snip, a little piece of me dies.
22. I have 2 adorable Border Terriers named Alfie and Jasper.
23. I fell over on a puddle that had turned to ice this winter and it was probably the most humiliating thing that's ever happened to me, not to mention it hurt my bum like you wouldn't believe.
24. I drive a red Renault Clio... his name is Ron.
25. I love The Sims... it actually pains me that I cannot play it all day everyday.
There we go - 25 things you may or may not have known about me!

I've only gone and joined Blogger, haven't I?

Hello world!
Hello world!
After years of watching various youtube channels and reading lots of beauty blogs, I've finally jumped on the bandwagon, so to speak. So welcome to my own little slice of what is the world wide web.
I'm 19 years old, living in the East of England and currently studying to fulfil my lifetime ambition of becoming a nurse (just like my mum). I can't say I'm very experienced nor am I very talented when it comes to beauty and make-up, but what I will say is that I love it and I want to share with you guys what I'm loving.
So, carpe diem and all that, here I am!
Lu ♥
